Who is an ideal candidate for an Eyebrow Lift?
Deciding whether you need a Brow Lift is a personal choice that depends on your individual concerns and goals. However, several common signs and conditions may indicate that an Eyebrow Lift could be beneficial for you.
1. Sagging eyebrows: If your eyebrows have started to droop or sag, giving you a perpetually tired, angry or sad appearance, a brow lift can help restore a more youthful and refreshed look.
2. Hooded or Heavy-looking eyes: When the eyebrows droop significantly, they can create a hooded effect on the upper eyelids, making your eyes appear smaller or heavier. An eyebrow lift can elevate the eyebrows, revealing more of the upper eyelids and brightening the eyes.
3. Frown lines between the eyebrows: If you have noticeable vertical lines between your eyebrows, commonly referred to as "frown lines" or "11 lines," a brow lift can soften their appearance and provide a more relaxed expression.
4. Impaired vision: In some patients, severe brow sagging can obstruct your vision, especially the upper field of view. A brow lift can help open the eye area, improving your visual field.
6. Non-surgical Treatments no longer sufficient: While non-surgical treatments like Botox and fillers can provide temporary lifting effects, they may no longer be effective in addressing more advanced brow sagging. In such cases, a surgical brow lift might be a better option.
7. Revision Brow Lift: in case of unsatisfactory results or complications following their initial brow lift, such as asymmetry, scarring issues, or unnatural positioning of the eyebrows.
It’s crucial to consult with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to determine if you are a suitable candidate for an eyebrow lift. During the consultation, I will assess your facial anatomy, discuss your concerns and expectations, and recommend the most appropriate approach to achieve your desired results.
The ideal patient is in good health and refrains from consuming alcohol and tobacco before and after their procedure.
Eyebrow Lift Recovery
• Immediate Post-Op: You may experience mild swelling, bruising, a headache and discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medications. The bandage is removed after 5 days. The forehead can feel tight during this period.
• First Week: Rest is crucial during this period. Keep your head elevated and avoid strenuous activities. Numbness in the operated area is normal.
• 2-4 Weeks: Most people can return to work and light activities within this timeframe, but vigorous exercise should be postponed.
• 3 Months: The scars have started to become less noticeable, and the most swelling has disappeared, revealing the refined and revitalized resutls.
• 6 Months: Any residual swelling or tightness will have completely resolved, leaving you with a comfortable and natural feel. By now, you will be able to fully appreciate the results of your Eyebrow Lift.
